A small theatre company runs on the people who show up. Here are the five concrete ways to be one of them, in rough order of how much time each one asks for.
1. Audition
Bold Theatre casts from the River Valley. You do not need a resume, an agent, or previous stage credits — you need to be willing to learn lines and show up to rehearsal. The interest form on our auditions page stays open year-round, so you can put your name down now and we will have it when casting opens for the next show.
2. Work backstage
Every production needs more people offstage than on it: build and paint, run lights and sound, manage props, dress the cast, take tickets, sell concessions. If you have a trade — carpentry, sewing, electrical, graphic design — it translates directly. The same interest form covers volunteering; just say what you would rather be doing.
3. Join the ticket alert list
This is the smallest ask on the list and the most useful to us. Our runs are short — nine performances for A Few Good Men — so a show can come and go before word gets around. Add your email on the tickets page and you will hear when seats go on sale instead of hearing about it afterward.
4. Sponsor a production
Business sponsorship puts your name in front of an audience that lives and shops here, and it pays for the things audiences never see: rights and royalties, lumber, lighting instruments, insurance. Tell us what you have in mind on the sponsorship page and we will come back with what it would look like.
5. Donate
Bold Theatre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so contributions are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows. Donations go to producing work and to building a permanent home for it. Any amount is real money to a company this size — give at the support page.
Not sure which?
Write to us. The contact page reaches the company directly, and no question is too small to ask before you commit to anything.
